BERIC HENDERSON
Storm over Kogarah Bay (2025)
Acrylic on canvas 50 x 64cm
$2500
My paintings and drawings often use line to imbue energy and connection between different elements of a composition. I like works that explore the fluid and changing nature of life, memory and our perception of the world around us. And I have always loved storms. In 2024 during an artist residency at Carss Bush Park in south Sydney, I experienced two evenings of very intense electrical storms whilst out walking. This painting is an expressive translation of a quick photo I captured while hurriedly returning to the cottage amidst the rain and lightning. It more accurately reflects the sensation I had of dynamic volatility and rolling and energised clouds.
